My favourite book

Custom Kitbash: Public Enemy

I think Christian Bale was the good guy in the film "Public Enemy", but I am doing this bash to have fun anyway. This suit is my latest aquisition and it's great for recreating the Al Capone gangster look. The only thing I might want to add is a silk tie and the legendary Thompson sub machine gun.

Soon to complete project

Other big manufacturer has released similar character, but honestly the sculpt looks less than satisfactory; the only thing worth my money is the PD costume and kit set it included, because that's what I lack at the moment.

AFA-Catalog Vol.1 part3

The third set is the hammer, one of my favourite melee weapons for the 1/6 fighters. I especially like the coloring which makes it look a bit old and rusty and gives it lots of texture despite it being made of plastic. It's actually interesting to think of the contrast of the weight you "see" and its actual weight. Time for revenge for Mr. Statham lookalike!!

AFA-Catalog Vol.1 part2

The second set is huge, I mean this thing is my absolute favourite. I don't think it is intended for actionfigure, but it happens to fit perfectly as a 1:6 fire extinguisher. It has a lighter and a LED flashlight, and with its die-cast shell it gives absolute value and realism.

AFA-Catalog Vol.1 part 1

The first set is a black shirt with pants. We used a HT Truetype slim for posing and it looks fabulous. The cutting is so good that it reminds me of an Andy Lau's music video "Because of Love" (因為愛) some years ago. We also tried it on the regular more muscular body, naturally it may look tighter but it looks just as fine. It has been said that this HT slim truetype is actually a Prince Harry lookalike, what do you think?

Welcome to AFA and model maker

Above: shooting in progress of the AFA catalog. My personal favorite would have to be that die-cast metal fire extinguisher which is also a practical lighter and LED torch.

I know, I know. Having a name like "actionfigure.asia" (AFA) in mind, it can be a bit disappointing when you have arrived here just to see another blog. The thing is, we are still working on a lot of details of the web site, and there is no reason to stop us from meeting with actionfigure enthusiasts all around the world. This is why we are now seeing you through this blog for the time being. So what's the deal with this model maker thing? Model maker is like a workshop of AFA, where we create, modify, and trade some of the action figure stuff we own. We will continue to post stuff that we are working on, like head sculpts and costumes, and also we will post items we retail. So you can view this model maker blog as a workshop and a tiny shop of AFA. We do need money to properly run AFA and to survive, and doing sales is one of the way we can think of at this moment. Sponsorhsip and advertising is a bit too early because right now we are just a tiny tinnie nobody in the action figure world. We hope to get bigger and better in the future.

We are currently working on a catalog for the auction page on yahoo.com.hk, will share more info very soon.
